Most of my adults are puppies that I have raised. I take care in the raising of them to help insure that I have healthy parents for my next generation. Knowledge and care goes a long way in providing a full healthy life for your bulldog puppy.
By the time your new puppy leaves me, he or she has had their vaccinations up to that date. They will need to have boosters up to the age of 16 weeks to be fully protected, I recommend Vanguard by Pfizer. Do not take your puppy in public places unless necessary. If you have to, hold them or put them in a carrier, do not let them on the ground or on the floor. Arrange a schedule with your veterinarian for vaccinations, worming, flea control, and heart worm control. Look for a veterinarian experienced with Bulldogs. No matter what people say Bulldogs are different than other breeds. Make sure you discuss new treatments and ideas with your veterinarian. Let them help you with the decision of to do or not to do.
Make sure your home is puppy safe, give them only appropriate toys or bones, remember they do have strong jaws, and could get something caught in their throat.
Feed them a nutritional dry food. I feed Royal Canin to my puppies and adults.
Do not over feed them. No table scraps. A fat bulldog is not a healthy bulldog.
Bulldog puppies do need exercise, but make sure they do not become over heated. Do not let them jump down from anything higher than their head. Do not keep a bulldog puppy on a slick surface for extended lengths of time; they need to be able to strengthen their hips and knees.
Bulldog puppies as well as adults love the water, but for the most (they can not swim). A baby pool with low amounts of water is fun and refreshing.
Most of all provide them with lots of love. They will return it will with life time companionship.
